I am currently a graduate student in the University of British Columbia's Master of Educational Technology program and am exploring Education PhD programs in Learning Sciences, Educational Technology and Innovation. I have diverse research interests including but not limited to social justice education, anti-racist education, trauma-informed practice, social-emotional learning, feminist and gender studies, English as an Additional Language, language and literacy, emerging technologies and innovation, games-based learning, informal education, design thinking and product design, humanizing online learning, social constructivist pedagogy, and sustainability education.
My career as an English Language Arts and English as an Additional Language teacher began in Austin, Texas at the International High School, a newcomer campus with an incredibly diverse group of students and teachers, and most recently, I tutored horticulture program-related courses and taught Communications to Allied Health and Technology students at Niagara College in Ontario.
As a lifelong learner, I have studied in various post-secondary programs in Canada, México, and Texas, and completed a greenhouse technician diploma in 2019. When I'm not studying or working, you'll find me outdoors or in my garden with my camera.
